Controversial proposals for the extension of a Banff filling station will go before planning bosses once more after being revised in a bid to appease objectors.
They would lead to a storage building at Victoria Filling Station being demolished to make way for extra parking, toilet facilities, a hand car wash and additional retail space.
A similar application hoping to add a café to the Boyndie Road business was submitted last July but withdrawn two months later after fuelling almost 20 objections related to privacy, road safety, drainage concerns and impact on other nearby food outlets.
This time around, Elgin-based CM Designs has removed the café option.
A spokesman said: “We can confirm the service station will retain its current use with ancillary use of takeaway coffee, unprepared food and no seating, therefore negating any concerns about odour from food production and overlooking adjacent properties.
The internal layout has been changed to remove seating and a reduction in glazing mitigates potential overlooking.
“Additionally, a recently approved 1.8 metre high fence now bounds the perimeter of the site and provides privacy screening to the neighbouring properties.
“Our revised design shows a significant effort to address the issues raised by the planning department and the concerns raised by neighbours, while still fulfilling the business aspirations of the applicant.”
Owner, Pamela Simpson, will hear the outcome once the application goes before planning chiefs at Aberdeenshire Council shortly.
Three objections have been lodged.
