Man who died in A90 crash described as a ‘true gentleman’

Friends have paid tribute to a driver who died in a car crash in Aberdeenshire.

Dan McGeown was involved in a one vehicle accident on the A90 Stonehaven to Dundee road, near the B974 Fettercairn junction, at around 6.10am on Monday, July 20.

The 34-year-old, from the Aldergrove area of Crumlin, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, died at the scene.

Many who knew him have taken to social media to pay tribute and express their condolences.

Bronagh Batchelor wrote: “Thinking of my beautiful friend Jenny and all of Dan’s family/friends at this heartbreaking time. Rest in Peace.”

Scott Newbigging said he had been a “true gentleman”, while Terry Montgomery described him as “one of a kind”, adding: “Really gonna miss this big man so much. Dan McGeown you were one of a kind and an absolute legend to say the least.”

And Paul Turley wrote: “I will never ever forget you Daniel… I love you, rest easy.”
