A 29-year-old man has been arrested after a multi-agency response was launched this morning in Peterhead.
Police were deployed to the Stewart Street area of the town around 9.55am following reports of a disturbance.
Officers later made an arrest near the shoreline with a lifeboat being deployed as a precaution around 12.15pm.
A spokesman said: “A 29-year-old man was later traced near the shoreline in Peterhead and arrested.
“Nobody was injured and there was no risk to the wider public.”
A coastguard spokesman confirmed crew from Peterhead lifeboat station assisted police with “safety cover.”
