Funding has been granted for a hip-hop music project to be carried out across north-east schools.
Creative Scotland has provided cash which will allow pupils to express themselves through the form of music made popular by the likes of Snoop Dogg, Jay Z and Eminem.
The scheme is being offered to around 200 P7 and S3/4 pupils in Fraserburgh and Peterhead.
The project is entering its third year and is managed in partnership with the Elphinstone Institute at Aberdeen University, which will engage contemporary Scottish hip-hop practitioners to lead the project.
Creative learning officer from Creative Scotland, Kelsey Jubin, has high hopes for the venture.
She added: “Through connecting contemporary Scottish hip-hop artists with young people in Aberdeenshire, this project will provide participants with a strong platform to express themselves, be creative in their own dialect and engage with the curriculum in a different way, as well as nurturing the growth and appreciation of hip-hop in Scotland.”
