Police bust on Warren Hennelly has impacted north-east heroin supply

The police bust of Warren Hennelly “significantly impacted” on the availability of heroin in the north east, according to a senior officer.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Dowall said the drugs recovery was one of the largest of its kind in Aberdeenshire.

He said the drugs stockpiled by Wayne Hennelly had been destined for communities in the area.

DCI Dowall said: “We are committed to tackling the supply of drugs within our communities and to keeping people safe from the risks involved in drug use.

“This sentence should serve as a warning that those caught being concerned in supply will be dealt with robustly by the courts.

“This recovery will have had a significant impact on the availability of heroin throughout the North East, and again, we appeal to members of our local communities to continue to work with us and report to us those who they suspect to be involved in the supply of drugs.”
