If you’re travelling around Aberdeenshire this week, here’s a handy wrap-up of all the new and ongoing roadworks and road closures in place.
These run from April 4 – April 10.
New road closures in Aberdeenshire
The West High Street Roundabout, Inverurie will be closed on April 4 for five days due to carriageway resurfacing, carried out by Aberdeenshire Council A diversion via Burghmuir Drive and Harlaw Road will be in place.
The C69C between U72C Hillbrae and Bennachie View will be closed from April 4 for three days due to safety works carried out by Openreach. Diversion via the A947.
Pettens Close in Aberdeen will be closed to traffic on Aprl 4 due to Scottish Water works.
The B9139 Portsoy – Whyntie – Inverboyndie (Old Coast) Road in Banff will be closed from April 4 for five days due to sewer investigation works and repairs. Diversion via the C61L at Scotsmill to A98 at Auchmore.
Smithy Road, Rothienorman, between Station Road and U48S Rothie Park in Inverurie will be closed between April 4 and 11 due to the installation of a speed table to be carried on behalf of Aberdeenshire Council.
St Andrews Drive, Fraserburgh will be closed on April 4 due to water works. Diversion via West Road.
The A947 between north side of Mill Cottage and U45S Haddo will be closed from April 5 to 9 due to house renovations works to be carried out by Neil Murray Housebuilders.
The U22m at Grampian Terrace near Aboyne will be closed from April 5 to 7 due to iron work repairs.
The U84k at Damside Cottage near Laurencekirk will be closed on April 5 due to Scottish Water tanker works.
The U157k- School Road will be closed on April 7 so Scottish Water can reinstate a manhole cover.
Closures in Aberdeenshire expected to end
Church Street, Macduff will reopen on April 8 after being closed off on March 31 due to burst water main pipe.
The U72C between Hillbrae and Shadowside will reopen to traffic on April 8 after being closed since March 21 due to underground structure works carried out on behalf of BT.
Braikley Avenue between Pringle Avenue and No5 Braikley Avenue in Ellon will reopen on April 10 after being closed since March 28 due to utility works be carried out by JKR Contractors.
Long-term Aberdeenshire road closures
In Huntly, the C87s Road will remain closed until May 6. A bridge closure remains in place on the route following a road traffic collision along the route. A diversion remains in place via C87S, B90001, A97, A96T and C87S.
Beach Road, Newburgh between Newburgh On Ythan Golf Club in Ellon will be closed from March 7 to June 3 due to construction of a new car park development to be carried out on behalf of Newburgh and Ythan Community Trust.
In Ellon, Blairythan Terrace is closed between February 14 and April 24 due to sewer works being carried out. The road is shut between 8 Blairythan Terrace and the junction of Blairythan Place, Foveran.
In Stonehaven, St Crispin’s Road will be closed between February 7 and April 15 while drainage works are carried out.
Kirk Brae in Fraserburgh will be closed from January until May 6 while new water mains are installed. Road improvement works will also be carried out between Broad Street and Shore Street.
Marischal Street, Thistle Street and Back Street in Peterhead will all remain closed. The streets were closed on June 26 for Covid distancing and are expected to remain closed till January 2030.
The U64s Devil’s Folly Road, Culsalmond is closed from the A96 to Williamston House access road to Culsalmond in Insch. It closed for carriageway repairs and will reopen on April 1.
The C80B Bishops Bridge in Peterhead is closed from January 24 2022 till January 1 2030. The road is shut from C80B to C77B and a diversion is in place C80B, A975, Aulton Road and Golf Road.
Following the destruction caused by Storm Arwen the U68s Largie road in Insch was closed on December 7. It is expected to reopen in June.
Cameron Street in Stonehaven is closed for flood protection scheme works with a one-way system from the junction with Cameron Terrace to the junction with Ann Street is in place. The street was closed in May 2019 and will not reopen until June 30.
White Bridge in Stonehaven is also closed for the flood protection scheme works from Cameron Terrace. It will also reopen in June.
Additionally, the U139c road, Westhill will remain closed due to repairs at the Craigiedarg Bridge. It was closed in July 2019 and is not expected to reopen until September 4.
The C30L Hazelbrae to Clunie Road in Banff closed in March this year due to an unsafe bridge. It is planned to be reopened in September 2022.
Golf Road in Ellon will reopen in September after being closed in August 2021 for construction work access.
The U70K, Stonehaven is closed from C1K at Tewel towards Auquhirie for structural repairs. The road closed in March 2021 and will remain closed until October 1.
The U135s School Lane in Turriff is closed for building repair access from the junction with Victoria Street to the junction with Schoolhill. It closed on September 4 and is not expected to reopen until March 2023.
