Police are appealing for public help as they continue to search for missing 40-year-old Kelli Ferris (Police Scotland/PA)

Police have released fresh details of CCTV footage of a woman who vanished in Aberdeen city centre more than two weeks ago.

Kelli Ferris appeared unsteady on her feet in the images, taken at 6.50pm on Wednesday, September 10 in Castle Street.

Yesterday, the search for the 40-year-old was widened, with a specialist dog again brought in to assist officers as they scoured an area from the Castlegate to Seaton.

Police fear that Ms Ferris, who has serious health issues which require medication, may have stumbled into undergrowth.

Detective Superintendent Mark Cooper said: “We now know that Kelli was in the Castle Street area at 6.50pm on Wednesday, September 10.

“She appeared unsteady on her feet and at one point crouched down on the ground and members of the public are seen to walk past her.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time or believes they may have seen Kelli is asked to contact us.

“Even if you are not certain that it was Kelli you saw, let us know so we can decide whether your information could help with our inquiries.”

Police have asked the public to check sheds and outbuildings for any sign of Ms Ferris.

She was also seen around 4.45pm on the day she disappeared outside the Marischal Court flats in the city centre.

She had been in the building for about two hours. After banging on several doors, she fell asleep in the foyer.

Ms Ferris may also have met up with someone after leaving the tower block and gone to another address.

She is described as 5ft 4in and of slim build with shoulder-length red hair.

When she was last seen, she was wearing dark trousers and a blue jacket and was carrying a brown handbag.

Last week, her mother Catherine Sandison begged the public to help find her daughter.

Anybody with any information about her whereabouts has been urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
