After shutting up shop earlier than planned on Saturday, the sun shone for The Royal Deeside Motor Show on Sunday.

The event held at Kincardine Castle and Estate over two days welcomed people from all over the country – and even gave those with tickets for one day an extra day for free.

The annual event shows off one of the largest gatherings of rare motors, including performance, classic, retro, contemporary, agri, leisure and heavy haulage, spanning motorcars, motorbikes, campers, 4x4s, HGVs and of course, tractors.

But as heavy rain tipped down on Saturday afternoon, organisers made the decision to close early.

Closing the event around 3pm, organisers said: “The good news is that the forecast is for settled weather from later this evening through tomorrow and into next week.

“We anticipate at this point that the event will open as normal tomorrow from Sunday at 10am.”

Good day in spite of the rain

Adding: “Please note that tickets purchased are valid for either today or tomorrow, so we would still welcome you all tomorrow.”

On Saturday evening a planned gig went ahead and, of course, it turned into a beautiful evening.

On Sunday there were two parades. The first was for tractors and drivers who drove down the West Drive at Kincardine Castle, the second was for classic cars.

Organisers had also put on a Clan Stunt Show.

Those who were at the event took were keen to sing its praises.

On social media, Carol Hutton said: “All the Riders Branch Legion Scotland members enjoyed it immensely, coming down from Sneckie, Tomatin, Keith, and all the way up from Galashiels.

“We hope you enjoyed seeing our toys.”.

Diane Oliver added: “Fantastic day today visiting the show. Brilliant turnout too.
We wanted to stop for the weekend with our caravan but the forecast put us off.

“Enjoy your evening, everyone who’s staying.”

Stuart Kane said: “Fair play for letting today’s ticket holders in tomorrow.”

Ange Whyte added: “It was a good day today, despite the rain.”
