A flight from Tenerife to Aberdeen Airport has been cancelled, causing passengers to be left on the island overnight.
Airline Tui says this was because the crew was outside their mandatory working hours and needed a break.
The company has stressed they provided accommodation and transfers for all Tenerife customers on Sunday night.
Passengers eventually departed Tenerife at 12.30pm and are due to arrive in Aberdeen on Monday afternoon.
Over the summer, Tui have been experiencing a series of cancellations and delays.
Earlier this month, an eight-year-old slept in a suitcase as families were left suck in a Turkey airport.
In response to this latest instance, Tui said: “We fully understand the frustration of customers due to travel back from Tenerife to Aberdeen on Sunday, August 14.
“Unfortunately, knock-on operational disruption meant the crew was outside of its regulated maximum working hours so the flight was delayed overnight to allow them enough time to rest.
“We communicated with customers throughout and they were provided with refreshments and overnight accommodation.
The company has also promised passengers “an extra goodwill gesture for the inconvenience”.
It is not known what this gesture will involve.
Aberdeen International Airport has also been approached for comment, but there was no reply.
Earlier today there was disruption at the Airport as all operations were temporarily suspended while “unscheduled maintenance” was carried out.
This meant two flights scheduled to depart from Aberdeen were cancelled and arrivals were delayed until after 2pm.
