An investigation has been launched after Aberdeen fans unfurled an abusive banner at the Dons’ game against Rangers this weekend.
Fans were seen holding the inappropriate flag during the second half of the Scottish Premier football match, which was held at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday.
Police were alerted to the banner during the second half of the afternoon game – at around 4.15pm – and have now confirmed it is investigating the incident.
A police spokeswoman said: “Officers were made aware of a report of a banner held up at a Rangers v Aberdeen football match around 4.15pm on Saturday, October 29.
“Inquiries are ongoing.”
