Man arrested following police chase across the north east

A man has been arrested following a dramatic police chase across the north east this evening.

The driver refused to stop and pull over for police near Peterhead, sparking a 15 minute chase involving the vehicle and four police cars.

The car was eventually stopped by the police cars on the A948, just off the A90, near Ellon.

The road was blocked in both directions, around 200 yards north of the Ellon Junction, while officers waited for the car to be collected.

The road was eventually cleared and police left the scene at 10pm.

A police spokesman said: “Police can confirm a man has been arrested for road traffic offences and inquiries are still ongoing.”

“We were in pursuit for around 15 minutes after a driver failed to stop when pulled over in the Peterhead area.”
