The Press and Journal understands a foreign man tripped and fell off the pier, near the harbour office. A local man witnessed the incident and dived in to try and rescue him but was unable to pull him out of the water. Fraserburgh Lifeboat was subsequently launched and managed to lift both men to safety. Emergency services are still at the scene and the ambulance service is understood to be treating both men. Details on their injuries are unknown at this stage.
