RIP Bailey Gwynne
RIP Bailey Gwynne

A social media page has been set up in remembrance of Cults Academy pupil Bailey Gwynne, who died after suffering a stab wound yesterday.

Police have launched a murder investigation into his death during lunchtime at Cults Academy.

The page  has seen thousands of people ‘like’ it overnight and comments are flooding in, paying tribute to the tragic 16-year-old who died in ‘a pointless fight, which got out of hand’.

Messages of grief from the school community and from around the country have been posted on the page.

Lori Hayden said: “What is this world coming to! God bless you Bailey….Rest In Peace”

Tracey Smith said: “This is a young man who went to school and never came home.”

Barbara Pilichos said: “Gone, too young & too soon, thoughts with family & friends. A very, very sad day, just heartbreaking.”

Sharon Hutcheson said: “R.I.P no one deserves that, what a crying shame for your poor family, getting that devastating news thinking your at school and should be safe…”

Jackie Allan said: “What a waste of a young life so disgusting Aberdeen is heartbroken tonight what kind of life do we live in there are no words no words at all this shouldn’t have happened too much violence nowadays this has wrecked a family my loving thoughts go out to his family firstly they must be torn apart staff and pupils and friends of this young boys life I just can’t bear to imagine how his family friends must be feeling this needs to stop and it needs to stop now security in schools needs to be looked at as unfortunately this isn’t the first time this has happened in schools.

“Schools are supposed to be a safe place for your children a place for them to flourish and sort out any differences amicably violence is not the answer.

“Poor young Bailey may u rest in peace with the angels and justice is done for you and your family. I find this so sickening and scary…”

Jennifer Alexander, said: “Didn’t know Bailey or his family at all but this is heart breaking news, our children should be safe at school and things like this just shouldn’t be happening.

“My sincerest sympathies to all his family and friends, how they will ever recover from this only time will tell.

“You’re in a safe place now Bailey but you should be home with your family.R.I.P”
