Sub-zero temperatures will endure across the north-east in the coming days with the local authority warning motorists to look out for ice on the roads.
Aberdeenshire Council has said it is still keeping an eye on local weather conditions, and is staying in contact with the Met Office and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency.
There are currently no flood warnings for the region and, as of last night, Aberdeen city and shire had avoided Met Office yellow and amber warnings for snow and ice – in place across much of the country.
The council added it is also looking into how best to distribute the Scottish Government’s flood relief funding of £2million to locals.
People in the Formartine area are now looking for plastic storage boxes, dehumidifiers, and cleaning equipment such as mops and plastic gloves.
Donations can be handed in to Ellon Library and at the British Legion in Inverurie for people in the Garioch area.
The Scottish Flood Forum will begin its weekly drop-in sessions in the Port Elphinstone Community House starting today at noon until 5pm and in Kemnay Village Hall from 6pm until 9pm.
Additionally, due to “extensive” flood damage at Ballater Police Station, the office has been closed with a series of surgeries arranged at a mobile police office outside the Victoria and Albert Halls in the coming weeks.
These will be held each Tuesday from January 19 until February 9 between 6.30pm and 8pm and each Saturday from January 23 to Feb 13 from 9.30am until 11am.
The council is asking people to send on their names or business names, postal address, daytime contact number to floodrelief@aberdeenshire.gov.uk regarding the Scottish Government funding allocations.
