Ladies from across the north-east will enjoy a day of fizz, fashion and music while raising cash for charity this weekend – and will be hoping to be head home in a brand new car.

The ARCHIE Foundation’s Fizz and Frocks event at Ardoe House Hotel will be held on Saturday.

Between 12.30pm and 4pm, the ladies will be able to enjoy afternoon tea and prosecco while taking in the variety of local stalls, live entertainment and raffles.

Car dealership firm John Clark Motor Group is offering the star raffle prize, by offering one lucky lady the week-long use of a brand new BMW i3 electric car, while the Ardoe is giving away a nights’ stay with bed and breakfast.

Emma Slesser, fundraising manager at ARCHIE, said: “Fizz and Frocks has been very exciting for me to plan.

“We have our hugely successful Beards for Bairns fundraiser every year which is just for men, and I have wanted to plan something for the ladies for a long time to give them a chance to raise some funds as well.

“This is a great opportunity for groups of friends and families to get together, support local sick children and have fun.”

Peter Sangster, the general manager of Ardoe House Hotel said: “It goes without saying that we are delighted to be able to host and support such an innovative and worthwhile event for a fantastic charity, which continues to make a difference to so many sick children and their families here in the north-east.

A spokeswoman for John Clark Motor Group said: “We’ve donated the i3 for a week because we’re in full support of The ARCHIE Foundation.

“They really are an amazing charity and we look forward to fundraising for them from all of our dealerships in the region.”

Tickets are still available, and cost £30 per person.
