A Dons supporter faces a football banning order after admitting being involved in a fight, following a European match in Aberdeen.
Police were called to the city’s Chapel Street on July 29 to deal with reports of an incident in the city centre, two hours after Aberdeen finished their game against Maribor at Pittodrie.
Four police vans and three police cars were sent to the disturbance which happened shortly after midnight.
In the aftermath of the brawl, police arrested a total of 16 men, aged between 19 and 41. Three of them were Dons supporters and the remaining men were all from Eastern Europe.
Yesterday, those from Aberdeen appeared in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, charged with the disturbance.
Keiran Renton, 20, and Scott Steppie, 23, both denied the charge against them and will go on trial next month.
However Euan Stevenson, 22, admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner following the game.
Stevenson accepted that he caused others fear and alarm by acting in an aggressive and offensive manner by engaging in and challenging others to a fight.
Fiscal depute Jamie Dunbar asked for his sentence to be deferred until the outcome of the other cases, but asked Sheriff Morag McLaughlin to consider imposing a football banning order on him.
This would prevent Stevenson, of Midstocket Road, Aberdeen, from attending matches in Scotland during a specific period of time.
Sheriff McLaughlin responded that she would continue consideration of the banning order until the date of his sentence on November 11.
Following the match, Chief Inspector Nick Topping said he was disappointed by the behaviour of some fans.
He added: “This was a contained and isolated incident which posed no threat to any other members of the community, and no one was seriously injured.
“In saying this, I cannot stress how disappointed I am that a small minority chose to conduct themselves in a disorderly manner.
“There were no reports of any anti-social behaviour leading up to the match, during the match and in the immediate aftermath, and I would like to thank all those fans who attended and acted responsibly and enjoyed the game.”
