Police have warned football supporters attending tomorrow’s SPFL game between Aberdeen and Celtic to behave responsibly.
Chief Inspector Murray Main told fans that anti-social behaviour would be dealt with “quickly and robustly.”
He said: “The overwhelming majority of fans come to matches with their friends and family to enjoy the fixture, and they want to do so in a safe and secure environment.
“However, let me be clear that police and both clubs will deal with any anti-social behaviour in any form, and I can assure you that anyone who chooses to act in such an unwanted manner will be dealt with quickly and robustly.
“You could be arrested and potentially appear in court. You could also be banned from future matches.”
Ch Insp Main added: “I also want to remind fans that they should not drink alcohol in the street, in the stadium, or when travelling to and from the game.
“Those who attend the ground drunk will not be permitted entry into the stadium and may well be arrested.
“The city centre is expected to be busier than usual with pay day weekend and those out for Halloween, so please bear this in mind when you are making your way through the centre of the city and act responsibly.”
