Police found cocaine at an Inverness flat, Aberdeen man said he was “holding the drugs for others”

An Aberdeen man was jailed for 18 months at Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday after admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine in Inverness.

At an earlier hearing, Sheriff Margaret Neilson heard that police discovered almost 47 grams of cocaine when they forced entry to an Inverness flat.

Recardo Colebridge, 25, of Arbroath Way in Aberdeen, admitted the offence which occurred in a property in Hilton Court in Inverness, between November 1 and December 2, 2015.

The class A narcotic was worth between £,3,320 and £5,620. His solicitor, Duncan Henderson said his client was “holding the drugs for others but I have explained to him that is still supply.”

Sentence on the first offender had been deferred until yesterday for a background report. Colebridge was assessed by social workers as being unsuitable for a community based disposal and Sheriff Neilson jailed him.

She told him: “Being concerned in the supply of class A drugs is always a serious matter and only a custodial sentence is appropriate.”
