In the past 12 months, speed restrictions have been put in place on many of the region’s roads.
Transport bosses have claimed the measures are to protect the Aberdeen bypass workers.
And while the restrictions have proved controversial for some, Constable White believes they have had a positive impact on the roads.
He said: “There’s been big issues with the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route sites where you’ve got people working being put in danger by cars flying past.
“I think a lot of people have brought their speed down, there’s still the odd few that go through at a ridiculous speed and they’re the ones that we’re trying to catch as they’ll cause the crashes.
“I think when it comes to speed it’s difficult because everybody speeds at some point, whether it’s 5mph over the limit or 30mph over the limit.
“It’s just trying to gauge who’s doing it on purpose and who’s being reckless.”
And Constable White, who joined the force in 2008, says there are still motorists who will take chances, particularly by looking at their mobile phones.
He added: “Mobile phones are an issue, there are lots of people using them and satnavs, people think that we can’t see them because they’re doing it below their windows but you can tell by the way they’re driving.
“I stopped a guy the other night who had it in a cradle and was using it as a satnav, and he just touched it to turn it off and he was on the other side of the road.”
