A pensioner fell to the ground as she tried to hold onto her purse that a thief was trying to steal from her.
The 75-year-old was on the footpath between Crimon Place at St Mary’s Cathedral and Huntly Street when she felt her bag being pulled away from her.
She fell to the ground as she attempted to hold onto it.
Police are now looking to trace a woman in connection with the incident. She is described as white, 5’3-5’6″ in height, slim build and aged about mid-twenties.
She has red/ginger hair tied back in a ponytail and spoke with a local accent.
She was wearing a green coloured parka style jacket, blue jeans with pronounced holes in both knees, and ankle boots.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Sherlock said: “This is an attack on a lone woman who had been at the shops in Aberdeen.
“She was pulled to the ground in the incident and had her bag its contents taken from her. We are appealing for anyone who recognises the description given and saw the woman in the area to contact us as soon as possible.
