Sections of a busy Aberdeen road will be closed for three months.

Aberdeen City Council has revealed restrictions will be in place on Cornhill Road until June 14.

The move is to ensure public safety during work to create a pioneering energy link between Royal Cornhill Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary at the Foresterhill Health Campus.

The link will allow the Foresterhill Energy Centre to operate at its full potential and supply heat and power to both sites.

Cornhill Road will be closed between its junctions with Westburn Drive and the entrance to Westburn Park until 11pm on March 7.

There is also a no waiting restriction on either side of the same stretch of road and no pedestrian access will be permitted.

And from 7.30am on February 22, the road will also be closed between its junctions with the entrance to Westburn Park and the entrance to Royal Cornhill Hospital until May 15.

There will be a no waiting restriction on either side of the same stretch, and no pedestrian access will be permitted.

Also, from 7.30am on May 4 until 11pm on June 14, Cornhill Road will be closed between its junctions with Westburn Road and the entrance to Royal Cornhill Hospital.

Access to properties in the affected area will be maintained however no traffic will be permitted.

During that time period there will also be a no waiting restriction on the east side of Cornhill Road from its junction with Westburn Road to the entrance of Royal Cornhill Hospital and on the west side from the access to the Westburn Resource Centre to the entrance of the hospital. Pedestrian access will also be restricted.

Finally, between April 3-28, there will be a no waiting restriction on either side of Cornhill Road between its junctions with Westburn Drive and the north gable of 72 Cornhill Road.
