Rail services between Aberdeen and Edinburgh are continuing to experience delays today after a woman was struck by a train near the capital.
The incident occurred at South Gyle railway station in Edinburgh at around 9.30pm last night.
The line between Inverkeithing and Haymarket remained closed until 11.30pm.
Edinburgh, Perth and Dundee services all continue to face disruption today.
Replacement transport has been arranged for some of the affected routes.
A police spokesman said: “Police Scotland can confirm a woman died in an incident at South Gyle railway station at about 9.30pm on Wednesday.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
