A cyclist is being treated for “serious injuries” after being trapped under a van on an Aberdeen road.
The male cyclist, 34, had to be freed after being struck by the white Citroen transit on Great Northern Road near the White Horse bar.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The 60-year-old driver of the van was uninjured in the incident.
Emergency services cordoned off route for several hours after being called to the scene shortly after 8am on Wednesday.
Road policing sergeant Stuart Lawrence has appealed for anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward as police work piece together the moments before the crash.
He said: “We would urge anyone who has witnessed the collision who we have not already spoken with to contact us on 101.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said the collision happened on the city bound carriageway.
The route remained closed for some time while emergency workers attended the scene but was able to reopen at around 12 noon.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were called to free a person trapped under a vehicle.
“We sent two appliances from the scene – one from Central Station and one from North Anderson Drive.”
A total of nine firefighters worked to free the cyclist using air bags and blocks before he was transferred into the care of paramedics.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 8.03am today to attend a road traffic collision on the Great Northern Road in Aberdeen.
“We dispatched one ambulance, a paramedic response unit and our special operations response team to the scene.
“One male patient was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
