The husband of a missing Aberdeen woman has made an emotional plea for the public to come forward as efforts to find her enter a fifth day.

Nusrat Jahan was reported missing from her Seaton home on Thursday night after telling a friend she was going for a walk at the beach.

The 34-year-old, also known as Nusrat Dow, was last seen at around 4pm at Marischal College in Broad Street but may have also gone to her home in Duff Street.

Her husband, Colin Dow, is now asking anyone who may have information that could assist with efforts to trace Ms Jahan to get in touch as soon as possible.

He said: “It has been five days since Nusrat went missing and with each day that passes, we are finding it increasingly difficult to come to terms with the fact no one has seen or heard from her.

“We are extremely grateful for the support the police have had so far from the public by providing information and potential sightings of Nusrat. The sad reality though is that she is still missing and we don’t know where she is.

“To anyone else who can help us understand what has happened to Nusrat, I would ask you to get in touch with police as soon as possible and tell them what you know.”

An extensive air, land and sea search remains underway, with officers focusing on the coastline from Cove to Torry Battery.

Mr Dow released more images of his wife, Nusrat Jahan, as efforts to trace her continue

Police divers and a mountain rescue team were drafted in on Monday to help extend the search, with attention being paid to locations across Aberdeen.

Officers have also appealed to Dons fans who may have been in the Beach Boulevard, King’s Links Golf Course or Donmouth areas of Aberdeen beach on Thursday night for the club’s match with Apollon Limassol to come forward with any information.

The missing woman is described as around 5ft 3in and of slim build with dark hair.

When last seen, she was wearing flat black slip-on shoes, black leggings or skinny jeans, a light grey patterned top, black rimmed glasses and was using a white handbag with a black band across the top.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101.
