Police have scaled back their search for a missing Aberdeen woman.
Nusrat Jahan was reported missing last Thursday, sparking a major hunt across the city involving police, lifeboat, mountain rescue and coastguard crews.
Officers last night returned to Aberdeen beach – where the 34-year-old was last thought to be – in the hope of jogging the memory of anyone who was in the area last week.
They have also revisited other key areas between Bridge of Don and Cove for a final check.
Dogs have also been drafted in to carry out further searches of Seaton Park, but no trace of the council worker have been found.
Area commander Chief Inspector Kevin Wallace said: “To maximise the use of our resources and time in any missing person inquiry we target our searches in areas based on information gathered, however once these leads are exhausted it is inevitable our search will be scaled back.
“Unfortunately as more time passes, and with no trace of Nusrat, it makes it extremely difficult to know where to focus our attention next.
“Inquiries of this nature are never easy and I know it will be frustrating for Nusrat’s family and friends not knowing exactly where she went.”
Insp Wallace said if officers received any fresh information, they would follow it up immediately.
