Trains from Aberdeen to Glasgow and Inverness suffered disruption this morning.

ScotRail said a fault on the line had caused delays and cancellations on the service to the Highland capital.

A statement on its website read: “Due to a fault on this train disruption is expected until 10am. Train services between Aberdeen and Inverness will be delayed or revised.”

It also stated train services between Aberdeen and Inverurie will be cancelled, delayed or revised.

It has since given an update stating the disruption had finished.

Meanwhile cattle on the railway at Dunblane caused disruption on services between Glasgow and Aberdeen.

A statement on ScotRail’s website read earlier this morning: “We’ve had reports of a cow on the line in the Dunblane area and, as a result, our trains have to run through this area at a slower speed than normal. We’ve got staff on site working on getting the cow away from the line so we can run trains normally.”

It states that “Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Aberdeen will be delayed”.

It has since tweeted: “CLEARED: Disruption caused by cattle on the railway earlier today at #Dunblane has now ended.”
