The Scottish SPCA has announced a new scheme to help supporters of the charity – if you make a donation, you will receive a free will-writing service.

The initiative – which would usually cost £150 for a single client or £240 for a couple – will prepare or rewrite people’s wills, so they can best prepare for their families’ futures.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity has teamed up with McClure solicitors, who will be supplying the guidance, in the hope the scheme will bring in more donations to help abused, abandoned and injured animals across Scotland.

Scottish SPCA Chief Executive, Kirsteen Campbell, said: “We are pleased this new relationship offers fantastic benefits to our supporters who really are at the core of what we do.

“McClure have offered a free will review service and half-price power of attorney. All they ask in return, is that those benefiting from their offer consider making a donation or leaving a gift in their will to the Scottish SPCA.”

Around half of the donations received by the Scottish SPCA come from legacy gifts, which allow the charity to continue their valuable work providing rescue animals with the food, warmth and veterinary care they need.

As an animal charity, the Scottish SPCA receives no government or lottery funding and relies entirely on donations.
