A 64-year-old man has appeared in court, charged with attempted murder, following an alleged daylight attack in Aberdeen.
John Quantrell also faced an allegation of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement when he took his place in the dock at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday afternoon.
Appearing in private, he made no plea against either charge and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance – which will be within the next eight days.
Police were called to Sinclair Road, in Torry, at 4.40pm on Monday, September 11, following the alleged assault.
A man in his 30s was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with “serious” injuries and officers said the incident involved the use of a weapon.
