Motorists faced huge tailbacks this morning due to a north-east road closure.
Dyce Drive was closed this morning for work on the new £333 million Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
A diversion between Wellheads Drive and the A96 was put in place but massive queues built up on the A96 and surrounding road network.
Motorists reported waiting for around 50-minutes to get along the stretch from the Haudagain along to the airport.
Anderson Drive was also sitting at a standstill for much of the morning.
The scheduled road closures are due to last two weeks.
Joe McMenamin, Project Director, Robertson Major Projects, said previously: “As a temporary full closure of the road is required we would encourage commuters to allow for increased travel time, or to consider public transport, in order to minimise disruption to their schedules. Delays are likely as a result of the work and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
