The managers of a north-east country club were left “extremely frustrated” this weekend after Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route work resulted in lengthy diversions for members and staff.
A section of North Deeside Road was shut to allow contractors to carry out surfacing work on the ambitious bypass project, to the west of the new North Deeside Road Bridge.
Diversions were put in place for those seeking to travel west towards Culter, but the management of Kippie Lodge were told that access to the country club would still be possible through the new slip road at Milltimber Brae.
However, for the duration of the weekend, the route was closed, which meant staff and members travelling from east of the lodge were forced to enter through the back gate and take a long diversion via Malcolm Road in Culter.
A statement from Kippie Lodge on Saturday said: “Unfortunately, due to a lack of communication from the AWPR, there has been significant traffic disruption along North Deeside Road resulting in limited access to and from Kippie.
“As it stands, the only entrance to Kippie is via Malcolm Road in Peterculter, and in through our back gate.
“Therefore, if you are heading from the Bieldside area, you must turn onto Baillieswells Road onto the Kingswells roundabout.
“From there, head to Westhill onto Peterculter and then follow the diversion signs.
“We are extremely frustrated with this situation, please bear with us while we are trying to rectify the problem.”
Transport Scotland was contacted for a comment.
