Rail passengers hoping to travel to the Scottish capital from Aberdeen this morning are facing disruption after a train hit a tree.
ScotRail said the line between the Granite City and Edinburgh is currently blocked and services are suspended in the meantime. Disruption is expected until 12pm.
Those travelling north this morning are also facing issues due to engineering works not being finished on time.
A statement on the ScotRail website reads: “Improvement works between Aberdeen and Inverness are taking a little longer than anticipated. As a result, we’re not able to run trains between Inverness and Keith at present. Staff on site advise they expect to be able to run trains as scheduled from 09:00. Replacement buses will be in operation between Inverness and Keith (and onto Aberdeen if they’re unable to connect with the train service).”
More to follow.
