Aberdeen is recovering from city-wide power cuts as 27,000 properties and traffic lights were affected this morning.
At around 6:20am a high voltage fault was reported to SSE.
The company was unsure as to whether the fault was caused by adverse weather or not.
The widespread cuts affected many parts of the city including, Bridge of Don, Union Street, Northfield, Springhill, Old Aberdeen and Berryden.
A spokeswoman for Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks said:
“We would like to apologise to all of those affected by the interruption to supplies in the north west of Aberdeen this morning.
“There was a fault on our main network which we were able to restore remotely from our control room with all customers back on supply within an hour.”
Traffic lights across the city were also affected but are now up and running with the exception to George Street.
Power has been restored but there’s problems with some traffic lights out still in George Street area, and engineers are on their way
