The new minister of an Aberdeen church has addressed the Scottish Parliament about how “words and actions” can affect the lives of struggling individuals.
Rev Shuna Dicks took up her post at Cults Parish Church in late January, after leading the flock at Aberlour Parish Church in Moray for years.
Yesterday she delivered the Time for Reflection speech at Holyrood for the first time and took the opportunity to remind politicians of how many people are burdened by a life of uncertainty.
Mrs Dicks was invited to address the Scottish Parliament by Moray MSP, Richard Lochhead, when she was one of his constituents.
She added: “I think it is important that the Church has something to say to legislators that might change the way they act in particular circumstances.”
Mrs Dicks grew up in Keith and was welcomed to Holyrood by Maureen Watt, MSP for Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, who is also from the town.
