A new festival has been organised to reignite Aberdeen’s nightlife by highlighting the city’s best food and drink outlets.
Inspired Nights will take place next month, following the success of Aberdeen Restaurant Week in encouraging people to dine out earlier this year.
People taking part by buying a special wristband will be given added incentives to explore the city’s bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
An Inspired Nights signature drink list will include discounts on mocktails and soft drinks, while VIP masterclasses, tasting sessions and talks are being convened.
There will also be the chance to see Nuart displays in a different light following the fall of darkness and street food markets will take place on the Green.
Aberdeen Inspired is organising the festival, and its evening and nighttime economy manager, Nicola Marie Johnston, explained the idea behind it.
She said: “Aberdeen Restaurant Week was very successful earlier this year and we want to build on this and create a vibrant night time economy, which showcases everything Aberdeen’s city centre has to offer.
“Similar projects have proved popular across the country such as Edinburgh Cocktail Weekend, which launched last year.
“Inspired Nights means the city and traders will benefit from a healthy increase in footfall and customer spending.
“We want to encourage as many bars, restaurants and nightclubs to get involved and to get behind the festival.”
The festival will run from Friday May 18 to Sunday May 27 and wristbands can be purchased from Rye & Soda in the Academy on Belmont Street.
