The man who won the Inaugural Great Aberdeen Run will offer training tips to one fortunate business which has signed up for the event this year.
Commonwealth Games star Robbie Simpson beat all the competition in August last year to be the first to cross the finish line on Union Street.
And now, participants from one north-east business will get the chance to find out how he achieved it.
TMr Simpson revealed at Churchill Drilling Tools this week that he will be offering a personalised training session and an exclusive Q&A session to one business taking part in the event this year.
All companies which sign up before midnight on Friday, July 6 will gain the chance to win that prize.
The second Great Aberdeen Run will take place on Sunday, August 26 with participants able to choose from either a half-marathon of a 10k run.
Banchory-based Mr Simpson said he was looking forward to working with the successful business.
He added: “I am delighted to be able to share my experiences and offer training advice to runners taking part in the business challenge.
“If I can help, even in a small way, to motivate them and point them in the right direction, I will be pleased.
“I am looking forward to hosting a training session and question-and-answer session with the winning team in the business challenge lucky draw later in the summer.
“I enjoy getting involved with runners of all levels of experience and sharing ideas on how to prepare for races. It should be a fun occasion.”
Employees at Churchill Drilling Tools have already signed up for the second Great Aberdeen Run.
Chief executive Mike Churchill said Mr Simpson was an “inspirational character.”
He added: “We thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the inaugural Simplyhealth Great Aberdeen Run. It was fantastic to see the city support the event in vast numbers and with such tremendous enthusiasm.
“We were delighted to welcome Robbie to our Aberdeen HQ – he is an inspirational character and the Churchill team certainly enjoyed his visit.
“Drawing on his experience and track record, he provided our team with some great hints and tips as we prepare to defend our business challenge title in 2018.”
