A north-east farmer will go on trial later this year accused of mistreating animals in his care.
William Cassie faces five charges of breaching farming rules between April and September last year.
The 62-year-old, of Portstown Farm at Keithhall, Inveruie, is accused of failing to register the death of a mature cow and keeping a calf confined as well as failing to provide treatment or seek veterinary advice for a calf with pneumonia.
He is also said to have failed to provide a suitable environment for animals in his care by exposing them scrap metal, polythene, farm elements and collapsed out-buildings as well as failing to submit an animal for testing within 72-hours when requested to do so.
Cassie denies the charges against him.
He will appear for trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in September.
