Window falls from shop and smashes onto busy Aberdeen street

Police have sealed off a stretch of pavement on Aberdeen’s main thoroughfare after a huge glass window fell and smashed onto the street.

The window of the former Nationwide building society premises on the west end of Union Street collapsed at 11.30pm last night and police were called to “make the spot safe”.

A stretch of the pavement has now been cordoned off with police tape and a large metal fence has been erected around the front of the shop.
