Two cars collided on the Banchory to Fettercairn section of the B947 earlier this evening.
The incident took place at around 5.20pm between a black Fiesta car and a white transit van.
Police and fire services remain on the scene and the road is closed.
One person was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene but it is not thought there were any serious injuries.
A police spokesman said: “We are still dealing with the situation and currently organising a vehicle recovery unit.
“Delays may be in place until we re-open the road.”
