A north-east man has been accused of setting a dog on a police officer.
Ian Cowie is alleged to have instructed his pet to bite Police Constable Rhona Meoloa on Aberdeen’s Auldearn Place on February 21 this year to her injury.
Cowie, of Belmont Road in Aberdeen, is also accused of being in charge of the dog while it was dangerously out of control and of shouting and causing a disturbance.
He denied the charges during an appearance at the city’s sheriff court yesterday.
The 31-year-old will return to court next month.
