A north-east MSP has demanded answers from rail bosses over the “woefully inadequate” service which has been offered in recent weeks.
Mark McDonald’s request follows a string of travel chaos incidents across the region, including when 80 trains were cancelled on Monday morning.
The Aberdeen Donside representative has written to ScotRail managing director, Alex Hynes, asking for a meeting.
He said: “It is clear that the standard of service on this route is below an acceptable level, and has been for some time.
“My constituents deserve better than the continuous cancellations and delays which are being delivered by ScotRail.”
Following the issues on Monday morning, a spokesman for the rail operator said: “We’re sorry to our customers who have experienced disruption. The vast majority of our services have run.
“We’re working hard to improve things.”
