A man has confessed to driving while disqualified and without insurance in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Simon Arthurs got inside a vehicle on Pittodrie Street just after midnight but was spotted by the police, who knew he was banned from the road.
He was followed along various streets, before stopping on Bayview Road, where officers spoke to him.
The 26-year-old confessed to the two offences when he appeared from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday.
Representing him, defence agent John McLeod said his client had been trying to get employment in security and was “trying to better himself.”
The court heard he had previous convictions for driving while disqualified.
Sheriff Ian Wallace deferred sentence on Arthurs, of Park Place in Aberdeen, in order to obtain reports.
He will return to court next month.
