A woman has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a horror crash on an Aberdeen road this morning.
The motorist was driving her black Ford Focus along the Coast Road in Cove at about 8am when her vehicle collided with a white Ford Ranger pickup truck belonging to the Aggreko power generation company.
Firefighters were called to remove the roof from the Ford and safely lift the hurt woman from the mangled car.
Police sealed off a stretch of the route between Doonie’s Rare Breeds Farm and Hareness Road while paramedics arrived to take the injured woman to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed that the man’s injuries included “broken bones” but did not appear to be life-threatening.
Police were still there shortly before 10am.
The road is expected to remain closed until tomorrow morning while the city council repairs the damage.
