The north and north-east of Scotland will be the place to be this weekend as Storm Hannah batters part of the UK with strong winds and much cooler conditions.
Gusts of up to 75mph are forecast to hit the south-west coast of England by tonight, with temperatures plunging more than 10 degrees in some parts.
But it’s not expected to be especially stormy in the north and north-east of Scotland, with fairly breezy and overcast conditions tonight and tomorrow giving way to sunny intervals on Sunday.
It should be good news for those taking part in the Loch Ness Etape, which kicks off at 5am on Sunday morning.

Met Office spokesman Richard Miles said: “The north of Scotland will most likely be the best place to be, the conditions will be fairly benign compared to what’s expected further south.
“There could be gusts of around 20mph but that compares to around 60mph further south.”
Temperatures in the area will be around 8 to 10C, close to average for this time of year.
Storm Hannah, which was named by Irish forecaster Met Eireann, will bring gusts of up to 80mph to the south-west coast of Ireland on this afternoon, before moving towards Wales and the south west of England.
Highs of just 12C or 13C will be in stark contrast to the balmy weekend just passed, which saw highs of 25C recorded in London and the warmest Easter Monday on record in the UK and Ireland.
Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst said: “When you add on the strength of the wind and the rain it will feel colder.”
The Met Office has a yellow weather warning in place for the south west of the country from tonight until tomorrow afternoon.
