Start times, road closures and everything else you need to know about the Tour Series

Aberdeen city centre will be a hive of activity today when the Tour Series hits the streets.

A new route was announced earlier this year for the major event where professional riders will test themselves on circuits of the 1.3k course.

Here’s everything you need to know about today’s event:

Road closures

A number of roads have been closed today for the event. Here is the list in full:

Parking restrictions

All parking, including disabled parking, on the following streets will be suspended from 8pm on Tuesday 14 May until 1am on Friday 17 May 2019:

  • Queen Street
  • Concert Court
  • St Catherine’s Wynd
  • Flourmill Lane
  • Adelphi
  • Upperkirkgate
  • Schoolhill including Pocket Park
  • Back Wynd
  • Little Belmont Street
  • Belmont Street
  • Gaelic Lane
  • Union Terrace

The races

Activities kick off at 12pm with the under-8s/10s boys and girls support race. Here is the list in full:

Where can I watch the Tour Series?

According to the organisers’ spectators manual, viewing for the races will
be available around the route with crossing points manned throughout the
day.

The elite race pit stop will be built on Union Street allowing the public to get a
glimpse of the riders as they prepare to race.

The podium and start/finish line will be built on Broad Street where the winners will be crowned.
