Organisers of a charity obstacle course in Aberdeen have cancelled the event due to low interest.
Cancer Research UK has taken the decision to cancel Pretty Muddy, a mud-splattered assault course, which was due to take place on June 23 in Hazlehead Park.
The charity has said that entries for the event have been lower than anticipated, which means it is not financially viable for the event to go ahead.
But the organisation will still hold the traditional 5K and 10K Race for Life events at Beach Esplanande next Sunday.
Lisa Adams, Cancer Research UK spokeswoman in Scotland, said: “Pretty Muddy raises money to fund life-saving research so we owe it to our participants and supporters to ensure that we raise as much money as possible in the most cost-efficient way.
“We want to pass on a sincere thank you to everyone who has supported Pretty Muddy Aberdeen in the past. It may be possible for Pretty Muddy to return to the city in future years but for now we hope our supporters will understand the reason for this decision in 2019 and we hope many will join us instead at Race for Life Aberdeen on Sunday June 9 at Beach Esplanade.”
All participants who have already registered for the race have been advised of the cancellation.
They can receive a full refund of their registration fee.
