A man has appeared in court after barging his way into his ex-partner’s home uninvited and sending her a barrage of texts and e-mails.
John Strathdee had been in a relationship with the woman for a matter of months when it deteriorated in June.
At 11.30pm on July 4 the woman was shocked when he entered her home.
Fiscal Calum Thomson said: “The complainer had been at home after an evening out with friends.
“Fifteen minutes later she heard what she thought was the patio door opening and saw the accused stood in the hallway.
“The complainer went to her bedroom, and the accused followed.”
The woman picked up her mobile and threatened to call the police, and Strathdee seized the phone from her hand and “slammed” it against the wall and a chest of drawers.
A hole was left in the wall, damage done to the chest of drawers and the screen of the phone cracked.
The woman then picked up a landline and called the police and Strathdee subsequently left.
But, then she heard the front door open, and the 54-year-old again entered the property.
The woman fled the property and waited for the police while Strathdee left.
The court then heard that, despite changing her number, his victim then received a barrage of messages on July 6.
Mr Thomson said: “The complainer received a phone call from a withheld number and heard silence so hung up.
“One minute later her phone rang again and she recognised the male voice.
“He told her ‘don’t hang up’, and she asked ‘how did you get this number’ before hanging up.”
He called her a further 11 times, texted 23 times and sent 41 e-mails to the woman’s work e-mail address.
The matter was then reported to the police.
Strathdee, whose address was given as Summerhill Drive in Aberdeen, admitted attending her home uninvited and repeatedly phoning her and sending her text messages.
Sheriff Peter Grant-Hutchison deferred sentence in order to obtain reports.
The case will call again in August.
