An Aberdeen man has been put on the sex offenders register after being caught with hours of indecent video footage of children.
Steven McQueenie, 37, admitted being involved in the creation of the images as well as possessing them between March 24 last year and January 29.
Fiscal depute Colin Neilson told Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday that police raided the flat McQueenie shared with his dad at the city’s Farmers Hall.
Both men were taken to a police station where McQueenie made a full confession.
The court heard that he told officers they would “find stuff” on his laptop.
He said: “I just did not want to say in front of my dad. There is no excuse.”
Police found videos and hundreds of images on McQueenie’s laptop and a mobile phone.
There were 11 films classed as category A, the most serious, along with eight classed as category B and 13 graded as C.
McQueenie’s solicitor, Mike Munro, said his client had already been remanded in custody for more than 100 days but accepted the nature of the content found meant he would be not be released.
Sheriff Andrew Miller deferred sentence until the end of next month for background reports.
McQueenie was ordered to forfeit his computer and phone.
