As the chilly winter mornings return, the Press and Journal is continuing to brighten the day of our readers by dishing out more £250 prizes.

As part of our £3,000 giveaway to show our appreciation of our loyal readership, every day this week a lucky reader has the chance of winning a cash prize simply by registering the name of the place printed on the paper’s cover.

Aboyne and Isle of Mull were drawn from Wednesday’s competition, delighting winners Chole Turner and Christina Cormack.

Chloe said she “let out a wee scream” when she answered the call informing her of the good news.

The 22-year-old, who works in a care home in Aberdeen, added: “I feel so lucky that I won, it’s a great amount of money to be surprised with.”

The Aberdonian is jetting off to Majorca for a blissful holiday in the sun with her partner Tormod MacKinnon and his parents next week and is pleased to have some extra spending money to treat everyone with.

At her job, Chloe reads the Press and Journal every day and always enters the competitions.

She said: “After I won, I told one lady to look out for me in the paper – so I can’t wait to show her.”

Fellow long-time reader Christina, who is in her 80s, said she was “thrilled to bits” with the win – and is looking forward to buying some bulbs for her garden and seeing them bloom next spring.

She said: “It’s taken 60 years of readership to win, and I’m very glad that I have.”

Christina, of Avoch, appreciates the Press and Journal’s dedication to speaking to locals and reporting news that matters to them.

She added: “I always read the Press and Journal and I say to everyone that if I were stranded on a desert island, I would still need to read this paper every day. There’s really not another paper like it.”
