A 34-year-old man has admitted fitting cameras in the staff changing rooms of an Aberdeen bar to secretly film a woman.
John Cameron also admitted fitting recording equipment in his victim’s home.
Cameron, now of Craigton Road in Aberdeen, had previously lived near the woman and another woman.
At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday he pleaded guilty to filming both women and another, without their knowledge of consent, between January 2015 and last April.
The Crown accepted not guilty pleas for two other similar offences.
He was added to the sex offender’s register while awaiting sentencing next month.
Fiscal depute Katy Begg told the court his neighbour had confided in Cameron, who she had known for several years, when she first found a covert camera in her bedroom.
This led to him admitting in a note to being “infatuated” with the woman – leading to police concluding he was behind the voyeurism.
Overall he was found to have 17 videos of the women – 13 of which were of the object of his “infatuation” and 100 images.
The catalogue included several showing the women in underwear or without clothes on, including while showering and using the toilet – some recorded through keyholes or under doors, the court was told.
Ms Begg said victims reported feeling “violated” and “disgust” at discovering his crimes.
His solicitor Ross Taggart said his client had sought medical help since his crimes came to light.
Sheriff Graeme Napier told Cameron he was facing prison: “These victims must now be thinking how many people have seen my naked body.
“I don’t think you fully understand that.
“I can’t see much option but for a custodial sentence.”
