The annual Celebrate Aberdeen parade will be returning on August 29.
It first took to the streets back in 2011 with the aim of recognising the contribution charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises make to the lives of people across the city and Aberdeenshire.
Last year more than 4,000 people took to the streets to watch the parade make its way along Union Street.
Some 130 organisations were recognised in 2019 and organisers hope this year’s event will be even bigger.
Registration opens on February 1.
Celebrate Aberdeen founder Morven Mackenzie said: “It’s an amazing sight to see the length of Union Street filled with colour and activity as people get together to recognise the fantastic work the third sector does for all of us.
“Now that the date has been confirmed, planning and preparation is stepping up a gear.
“A huge amount of work is done by a relatively small team of volunteers who gives hours and hours of their own time to make this happen.”
In addition to the voluntary sector organisations, the parade will also feature a number of cultural organisations, youth groups, sports clubs and entertainment groups.
The Celebrate Aberdeen events are organised and run by a team of volunteers who have helped the event grow each year.
It will culminate in an a awards ceremony to shine a light on the individuals and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to society.
